Founded in 1978, over the past 40 years Tazaki Foods has grown to become the leading food and drink importer, developer and distributor in their market in the UK and Europe. This impressive growth has required an increase in resources which eventually pushed their existing facilities beyond their limit for accommodating staff and providing expandable space for future growth.
Up until their recent move, Tazaki Foods were also spread across several locations around the UK. A major goal for the project was to bring these industrial locations under one roof to enable them to operate more efficiently.
Woodhouse delivered a full turnkey design and build solution for Tazaki Foods’ new premises including the office and warehouse. This included managing freezer suppliers and the engineering and design of a bespoke 10,000 sq ft freezer; essential for the industry that Tazaki Foods operates in.
Budget and timescale were the key points of importance for this project. Following the original briefing and work getting underway, business-critical circumstances meant the move-in date was pulled forward by six weeks. Despite the increased pressure on completion date, Woodhouse was able to successfully finish the project within the timescale and to a high standard; this saw Tazaki Foods moving in on time, with only minimal impact on their day to day activities.
Woodhouse had a great team that worked throughout. They were able to deliver, and to hand over the site six weeks ahead of target. From my point of view they did a good job from the ground up. The workspace itself lends itself to us being more productive and more creative. It’s breathed life back into the company. Now there’s definitely an air of optimism and a degree of creativity in Tazaki Foods.
