The Brief

The brief was to create an innovative workspace that would engage staff as an exciting place to work.

Having acquired an empty floor in an occupied building in Hatfield, the space was to house 150+ staff within a number of different areas to support all working styles and accommodate Engie’s expanding team.

Following an in-depth workplace strategy, the design team had the necessary information to create a workplace with a ‘wow’ factor tailored exactly to Engie’s needs.

The Solution

The 18,000 sq ft space features a raft of bespoke spaces, focusing on collaboration, breakout, open-plan working and wellness. Space-dividing acoustic panels create a series of themed areas within the open-plan office, whilst maintaining a sense of one team.

A striking and impactful feature are the bespoke moss walls at the entrance to the office that lead into a state-of-the-art breakout space with gaming area. The workspace also boasts a brick wall, greenery throughout the offices and a host of meeting spaces.

The transition of the empty space into a fully functional, modern office was great to be part of and it is testament to Woodhouse just how seamless this process was and also the quality of the design. It was a major thing for ENGIE and, without any doubt, it has been a phenomenal success.
